Additional Accommodations
Beyond our reserved hotel blocks, Snowmass offers many vacation rental options through Airbnb, VRBO, and local rental companies. These are great choices for groups, families, or anyone looking for more space and flexibility.
Nearby Aspen is also a wonderful option, with plenty of lodging just a short 20 minute drive from Snowmass.
We encourage booking early, as summer availability can fill quickly.
Getting to Aspen/Snowmass
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE)
Closest option — just 10 minutes from downtown Aspen
Most convenient for getting into town quickly
Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE)
Located near Vail, about a 2-hour drive to Aspen
A good choice for more flight availability
Denver International Airport (DEN)
Largest airport with the most nationwide and international flights
About a 4-hour drive to Aspen
Many visitors rent a car or take a shuttle for the scenic trip through the Rockies
Our Recommendation: For ease and convenience, we suggest flying directly into Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) if possible. If flights into ASE are limited, Eagle (EGE) is a strong alternative, while Denver (DEN) is best for the widest flight options and those who don’t mind a longer, scenic drive.
Getting Around in Aspen/Snowmass
Once in Aspen, getting around is relatively easy, thanks to a combination of free local buses, shuttles, and taxis. The RFTA (Roaring Fork Transportation Authority) provides a free city bus system within Aspen and Snowmass, making it simple to navigate downtown, reach ski areas, and access surrounding neighborhoods without a car. For destinations not served by the bus, taxis, rideshare services, and hotel shuttles offer convenient alternatives. During peak ski season and summer events, it’s often easier to rely on public transit or shuttles rather than parking in town, as downtown parking can be limited.
Adjusting to Altitude
Snowmass is located at 8,000 feet above sea level. At this elevation, you may notice the air feels thinner. It’s completely normal to feel short of breath, light-headed, or more sensitive to alcohol, especially in the first 24–48 hours. And don’t worry… champagne tastes just as good at 8,000 feet!
Tips for a smooth adjustment:
Hydrate well before and during your trip (water + electrolytes).
Take it easy on physical activity the first day.
Go easy on alcohol — even one drink can feel stronger than usual.
Use sunscreen and moisturizer — the sun is stronger and the air is drier at altitude.
Rest as needed — most guests acclimate within a day or two.
If you have health concerns, talk to your doctor before traveling. Most people adjust quickly and feel great once they’ve had time to settle in.
